On Fridays the donkeys enjoy a well deserved rest day. For the donkeys to be allowed to work on Blackpools beach they must first pass a vetenerians inspection, an annual health check. The Blackpool Donkeys day starts off with their breakfast in their stables. They then have either a trip in a horse box or a short walk to Blackpools beach.

We are now back up and running on the Beach at Blackpool and aim to be attending events across the U.K. very soon. Donkey rides have always proven popular and many people return year on year despite there being other more modern activities in Blackpool to do. Donkey rides are an ideal activity for children of all ages. Our donkeys are well mannered and children friendly. We currently have around 20 donkeys of all ages and have been working on the Golden Mile at Blackpool for over 21 years. Why not make it a fun day out for all the family and join us on the golden sands of Blackpool.

The number of donkeys to occupy an authorised stand shall not at any time exceed eight. The hours of work in respect of donkeys shall not exceed the following: 10.00am to 1.00pm and 2.00pm to 7.00pm. No donkey shall stand or ply for hire on the stands on any Friday. Donkeys must not be ridden or driven so as to expose the rider or other user of the foreshore to any danger. No person over the age of sixteen years, or over eight stones in weight, shall be permitted to ride any donkey. Any officer of the RSPCA or of the Environmental Services (Licensing Section) or any police officer is authorised and appointed to supervise the licensed donkeys plying for hire on the foreshore and to enforce regulations made by the Council with reference thereto.
