The Winter Gardens were built so that visitors to the Royal Baths could relax and stroll in any weather. An outstanding Grade II-listed building which contained Harrogate's former Royal Baths, sympathetically converted by Wetherspoon's. Tasteful conversion of the main hall of the vast Victorian Royal Baths complex retaining many original features, with Harrogate Turkish Baths next door. The pub serves the usual Wetherspoon core range of beers, plus numerous locally sourced guests are dispensed across three sets of handpumps. A magnificent establishment in which lots of great drinking spaces have been skilfully created. A wide range of ales, ciders and meals. There is a Hollywood-style staircase to boot. A sweeping Hollywood-style bifurcated stone staircase carries you down to the spacious high-ceilinged bar area below.

The charity staged its first successful show in 1920, with the Old Winter Gardens in Harrogate chosen as a central location for visitors from across the north of England. Due to the continued success of the events, the charity moved operations to Harrogate’s famous Valley Gardens in 1934, the location of the spring show for over 60 years. The North of England Horticultural Society was established in January 1911. The purpose of the new society was to promote horticulture in the north of England, providing a top class showcase for plants and produce grown in the colder northern climate. From then on, all meetings and shows were held in Harrogate and the charity quickly became associated with the town.

The Winter Gardens, Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England, built 1835. The glass section burned down, and that part was rebuilt. The original frontage and stone stairway still exist. The Winter Gardens, on Parliament Street, will be the penultimate stop on the northern tour of J D Wetherspoon pubs, which is being run by operator MyUKTour. Constructed in the 19th century, the building was originally designed as an entertainment venue. Originally constructed as an entertainment venue in the 19th century, The Winter Gardens was designed to provide year-round indoor leisure spaces for people to enjoy concerts, dances and social events. Over the years, as the demand for such entertainment venues waned, The Winter Gardens has undergone several changes in use. When Wetherspoons acquired the site, they retained much of its original splendour, carefully restoring and highlighting its historic features. The architecture of The Winter Gardens reflects the opulence of a bygone era, making it one of the most visually impressive venues in the JD Wetherspoon franchise.
