I came upon Seaside, Fla., accidentally, after recently learning it was the picture-perfect town that served as the fictional village in the 1998 film “The Truman Show.”
This home was used in “The Truman Show.” It was where Jim Carrey’s character Truman lived.
According to 30a.com, some of the town’s scenes from “The Truman Show” were artificially created, writing: “With a bit of movie magic buildings were added and a bustling downtown was created, but you can still visit many spots from the iconic Jim Carrey film.”
Truman’s House
This little bungalow bears the address 36 Natchez Street.
30a.com says: “Don’t let the movie address confuse you, the Truman House can be found at 31 Natchez Street.
The owners have kept the house number 36 from the movie above the door.
The street where Turman lives in “The Truman Show.”
The famous quote from “The Truman Show.”

Director Peter Weir’s wife felt the same way when she scouted Seaside for what would become the hit movie, The Truman Show. With a bit of “movie magic” buildings were added and a bustling downtown was created, but you can still visit many spots from the iconic Jim Carrey film. The fictional town of “Seahaven,” as seen from the sky, was actually Seaside. Seaside’s iconic Coleman Tower, as seen in the movie, serves as a public beach access to all. The Seaside Post office has moved locations since the filming, but the building essentially remains the same. The Truman House can be found at 31 Natchez Street, and the owners have kept the house number 36 from the movie above the door. Point Washington’s Boat Ramp was staged as Harbor Island Ferry Terminal in the movie. Seaside Central Square Amphitheater as seen in the movie is still present today.
