The house, which was then run as a hotel and called St Andrews was up for sale.
We first saw the Beach House during the early part of 2000 and already had a little cottage in the village which Colin had bought originally in …. so we knew Port Isaac really well.
A builder friend mentioned that the house, which was then run as a hotel and called St Andrews was up for sale.
He warned us that a lot of work needed doing on it.

The house where Henry in 1911 was building an addition to his house at seawall, Leigh Beck be the Beach House.
When researching the family and noting the maiden name of Henry’s wife (Beach) and the fact that she died in 1909 I wondered was the place called Beach House not because of its location but in memory of Henry’s wife.

The Beach House was originally known as Westover.
The Beach House was built by the Siemens family over 100 years ago and later sold to the Morris family.
It is not clear from the opening section and the closing section exactly what the house was originally named and when any changes took place.
Should it have read at the end that the house reverted to its original name given by Siemens ie Westover as opposed to it being renamed.
