I don’t try to cram ton of stuff into a short schedule because I know it will only burn me out and lead to boredom once I crash. Instead, I follow a schedule based on my own personal philosophy for why I travel. I want to see and understand the world. I want to experience unusual things. So, I set aside a few weeks every year to get away from home. I never worry about not having enough time to see everything. That only leads to not appreciating what I do see. I think every day—traveling or not—would be a little more enjoyable. How much more satisfying would your vacations be if travel was a regular part of your life and not something precious that you micromanage the happiness out of? What if vacation could be something abundant and not scarce… simply by changing the way you think about it? What if you put fewer expectations on your trips and just enjoyed the experiences that fit?

Start a creative project, like painting, drawing, sculpting, making your own jewellery or photography, to bring out your creative side. Try out new recipes, you have all the time to try out new recipes, who knows, you might discover a new favourite dish. Learn a new language with apps like Duolingo, how fun would it be if you could impress your friends by speaking Dutch after the summer? Explore a new place, visit new cities, explore nature reserves, museums, castles and other cultural sites or take a day trip to one of the Dutch islands. Go outside, go walking, swimming or relaxing, you never know when it might rain again, so if the weather is nice, definitely take the opportunity to enjoy it. Meet up with friends, message your friends and plan a picnic, game night or movie marathon, being bored together is better than being bored alone. Be a tourist in your own city, try out new cafes, cycling routes or visit a museum, you can visit De Museumfabriek and Rijksmuseum Twenthe for free. Relax, use your time in the summer vacation to do nothing at all every once in a while, take some days to sleep in late, binge-watch a series, lie in the sun all day or relax in other ways.

We spend hours lying in inner tubes, drifting near the shore. We spend a lot of time untangling fishing lines and baiting hooks, but we're not as successful as my dad was at actually catching anything. We lie in the hammock and watch the clouds, and if we're feeling really energetic, we play badminton on the lawn. Excitement comes in the form of a frog who lets himself be caught, or a hummingbird zipping around the flowers, or a bass jumping out of the water. Make sure your vacations include downtime, when kids and grown-ups alike can truly relax, do nothing and enjoy each other's company. Cook something together, play a board game, buy a blow-up raft and find some water where you can spend a few hours floating.

Being willing to accept changes, listen to the ideas of other family members and value them, can grow our plans and above all our relationship, both with ourselves that we can learn to relativize and increase our doses of patience; as with others.
Another tip that will surely come in handy is: move.
If you can, get out of your usual environment, run away from the city and the cement, from the parks you frequent every day, and look for a different "base camp" where you can move in the most literal sense of the word.
Walk, run, swim, jump, dance... All these activities that we may not be able to do on a daily basis, generate chemical substances known as endorphins.
Integrating sports and games into your vacation as one more family activity is sure to improve your overall mood, while also helping to strengthen our bonds with our loved ones.
We don't always have to do everything together during the holidays.
We look for times so that everyone can dedicate themselves to what they like the most and to be able to truly disconnect and recharge their batteries.
Freedom is another key factor in enjoying your holidays, so you can choose at any time if you want to join the attractive dynamics that our team has prepared or if you prefer to go your own way.
