The owner of Blackpool is Simon Sadler. After taking over in 2019, Sadler oversaw the Seasiders promotion to the Championship in 2021, but returned to the third tier two years later. The owner wants it. He's a Blackpool fan, and he pays a lot of money every year - which we should be thankful for. He wants the club to succeed. One of the reasons I’m sat here is because of him. The ambition of Blackpool owner Simon Sadler is one of the factors that convinced him to return to the dugout, nearly two years on from his sacking at West Brom.

Simon Sadler is a British businessman, founder of Segantii Capital Management and the current owner of Blackpool Football Club. He acquired the club out of receivership in 2019, purchasing a 96.2% share in the club, ending the Oyston family's 32-year ownership in the process. In January 2025, it was revealed that Sadler was looking to sell the club as he faces accusations of insider trading with Segantii. He has been the owner and chairman of Blackpool F.C. since 13 June 2019. Sadler grew up on Bispham Road in Bispham, Blackpool. He has been described as a "tough but fair character" in the business world. Sadler explained that he alone cannot fund the investment needed by the club, that it is supported by season-ticket purchases. Two years in, and I'm still full of awe and wonder at being the owner of my hometown football club. I know that it's a great honour and privilege to be the custodian of Blackpool Football Club, and I will continue to do my bit to protect, cherish and nurture it for the future generations of fans to come.

He bought Blackpool FC for £10m, rescuing the club from the ruinous regime of local tycoon Owen Oyston. A Lancastrian to his core, Sadler, 54, was born in the seaside village of Bispham on the outskirts of Blackpool, and educated at the local Warbreck High School. When he bought Blackpool FC, Sadler ordered dozens of the team’s tangerine-coloured jerseys as gifts for Segantii’s employees. Back in Britain, he could barely contain his joy at taking over the club that had nurtured the legendary Stanley Matthews. All of a sudden, out of nowhere, I’m the owner of a football club, I’m walking the pitch and people are singing my name.
